Winds of Change

“Winds are in our favor” says the captain just prior to take off out of  Dulles.  “We should be landing 30 minutes ahead of schedule.”  The very tight window for catching our connecting flight just opened up a bit.  Scrambling through a first-time visit to LAX in search of our connecting flight to PHX had me worried, but the winds-of-change changed that.

My trip to Arizona is off to a good start. So many dots need to be connected to make a cross country trip, most of which are beyond your control.  Fretting over those details is behind me now.  Fourteen hours after popping out of bed back east, I’m relaxed on our host’s couch with a drink in hand discussing route options for tomorrow’s adventure through Oak Creek Canyon.
